“PASSING PLEASURES OF SIN”
The motto of our day seems to say, “Obey Your Thirst”. A lot of us interpret that to mean, “for as long as it makes you happy, go for it, so in the end you’ll have no regrets.” So we indulge ourselves with all the fun stuff we can get our hands on. Sadly though, a lot of these could be activities that most satisfy cravings of the flesh.
Hebrews 11:25 says “sin is pleasurable… but only for a short while.” Proverbs 14:12 says,
“There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.” For most young ones, you hold on to the advice that says, “you are young only once, make the most out of it.” The only way to truly make the most out of it is to heed what God says:
Ecclesiastes 12:1 says, “Don’t let the excitement of youth cause you to forget your Creator. Honor him in your youth before you grow old and say, “Life is not pleasant anymore.”” Romans 6:12-13 says, “Therefore do not let sin control your mortal body so that you obey its desires. Do not present the parts of your body to sin as instruments of wickedness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and present the parts of your body to Him as instruments of righteousness.” God bless you! – Pastor Patrick #godliness #christianlife #holiness
